Classical ballet is a vital part of our School, and the majority of our students study ballet.
The School is proud to include the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 8-level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. The ABT® National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality training to dance students of all ages and skill levels. Primary through Level 7 will be taught by ABT® Certified Teacher, Sarah Ingley, who has successfully completed the entire ABT® Teacher Training Intensives in Primary through Level 7 and Partnering of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
All our ballet students train under this program of study, sought worldwide and created at ABT's Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (JKO) School, in NYC. Our students are eligible for examination either here in Williston or in New York City.
Our dancers wear the ABT® uniform (color coded, level-specific) of the JKO School. Dress code enforcement is strict at our School.
Dancer health, safety, and personal success is a priority. Students advance by skill mastery, not by completion of a school year. We do retain students when beneficial. We hold very high standards regarding pointe work entry for girls, addressed on an individual, not overall class, basis. Teachers hold high expectations while maintaining an encouraging atmosphere of positive reinforcement.
